My name is Lavinia and I met an American mum in Bellariva’ Swimming pool. I asked her if she knew someone who could give lesson in English to my son (who is 8 y.o) and some friends. She suggested the moms that belong to the FMs4Ms Network might be able to help.

In all the kids would be 5/6 and the lessons could give in my house or in another mum’s. We live around Piazza Sant’Ambrogio. (in the center).

Summer “home exchange”

Hello expat Moms and families,

My family is looking for a summer “home exchange” with Italy — either as a one-time swap, or as an annual exchange if things go well for both sides.  Our dates for summer 2012 are somewhat flexible at this point.

We are a professional couple with two kids (toddler and infant) from the San Francisco Bay Area.  We have a beautiful house (4 bedrooms plus office) in a town called Tiburon (just 10mins north of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate bridge), which is right on the water with ferry access to the city, etc.  Our family spends a month in Europe every summer (flexible on the time, but usually July/early Aug) and usually for two weeks we are in Northern Italy.  We have found that exchanging with families works better for us than renting villas or staying in hotels, because the place will likely be more “kid friendly” already… so we’d like to find a family, preferably with younger children, who’d be willing to exchange their home with us.

Babysitter and Schools in Pistoia

Hello, my name is Ariane, and I have just moved to Pistoia from California. I have 2 boys and their ages are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. I was wondering where can I find an english speaking babysitter and I would also like to know, if there is a english or french school that I can put my son in that is in Pistoia or somewhere near. My husband and I went to the school in Florence, but realized we would spend too much time driving and on gas driving back and forth 2x a day.Thanks for your help!

Looking For: Live-in nanny job

Hello,
My name is Caroline McCarthy. I worked as a live-in nanny for an
Italian family with 2 boys (ages 5 and 7) in Prato from October
2010-March 2011. I returned to the US in March and will be coming back
to Italy on June 1st. The family I worked for just notified me that
they will not need my help again until September. I am looking for a
family who is interested in hiring me until the end of August. I found
my job in the Fall from a response to an email I sent to
Firenzemoms4moms, so I thought I would try again! Please feel free to

Looking for Household items

If any of you have any household items that you want to give away or sell, I would love it.  I am moving into a new apartment that is partially furnished.  Thanks!

The main things we are looking for is:
* Bedding, sheets, blankets and bedspreads.  We will have 4 twin beds, and 3 matrimoniale beds (similar to full or queen).
* TV
* Kitchen Items – Dishes, Pots & Pans, Bowls, etc.
* Iron and Ironing Board
* Latter
* Laundry drying racks
* Inflatable mattress
* Rugs

These are the basics, but any other odd-end items that you may want to get a rid of we may be interested and it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!!
