Marina di Grosseto
Here is what our Member Moms answered:
“Campsite near the beach, Marina di Grosseto. Picked this particular campsite (Le Marze) because we have two large dogs and this is the ONLY campsite that accepts dogs near a ‘Dog beach’. This will be our third year here. Wonderful site, great organisation and lovely people. We rough it in style though, no tents! Rent a mobile home, clean and easy. Biking it to the beach (about 1 km) means we all get our exercise!” by Susan
Garfagnana
“The Garfagnana for mountains, and Marina di Vecchiano for the beach” by Deborah
“We go to Castiglioncello & Quercianella for the shore and for the mountains we trek to the Dolomites, St. Christina. “ by Kim
“Our summer destination is Nova Scotia, Canada” by Jennifer
“We go to the beach (Marina di Pietra Santa) in July and August. My in-laws have a small cottage that we stay at. During August we usually spend a week in the mountains with friends in Trentino. Small family friendly b&b’s or hotels with half board (breakfast and dinner) are easy to find in Trentino. We spend the day hiking, swimming in a lake, or visiting small alpine villages. My favorite part is finding a baita (chalet) that serves local/homemade cheeses, and other food. You can hike to remote ones, eat outdoors and enjoy the view of the alps.” By Christina
“To Northern Europe, Finland, to see all the relatives and friends there and also to spend a summer not-too-hot. If we were in Italy, we’d probably go to the shore for a while, and other times stay at home in Fiesole, where it’s not as burning hot as downtown Firenze.” By Henna
“Viareggio beach holiday – has a bagno for all budgets and needs – and the Pinetta for shade and fun for the little ones when you need a break from the sun – bombolone and bycicle rides, trampolines, poney rides, tennis lessons, playgrounds and much much more” by Pia
“We have done both, and long trips across the pond too! None of it is what it was before kids, but it’s all doable. For the beach you need good quality, water-resistant sun screen and big hat. For the mountains you need the same as above plus a back-pack to carry your kid around in! No matter where you go you need lots of patience and creativity!” by Christine
